Before installing the
SentryPad software onto your computer, you must install the
SentryPad Input adapter, follow the below guide to assist you.
|
|
|
|
| Before continuing switch
off the power to your computer from the power outlet, but do
not disconnect the power lead from either end, as this will
provide a ground. To gain access to the inside of your
computer, usually the case is held on with a number of screws
around the perimeter of your computer. Once you have removed
these screws you will be able to remove the case cover, check
with your system provider for the precise details of how to do
this, as it differs between computers |
|
|
After
removing the cover from your computer, you should now
see something similar to the
picture. | |
|
Locate a
spare PCI slot, these are white in colour and
approximately 8cm in length.
|
Adjacent
to the PCI you have chosen you will see a steel plate
covering the opening for the card to go into, these are
called blanking plates and you will need to remove this
to insert the card. Some blanking plates are held in the
screws, others are simply clipped in, and some are part
of the case itself. On the pictured case the blanking
plate is held in with screws.
|
Once you
have removed the blanking plate keep them in a safe
place, and you will need the screw to secure the
SentryPad input card into place.
| |
|
Now you
have removed the blanking plate you can install the
SentryPad input adapter, before continuing touch a metal
part of the computer, for example the chassis, this will
ensure that you are grounded and will not damage the
electronic components within your computer. Remove the
SentryPad input adapter from the Anti-Static bag and
offer up the gold coloured edge to the white PCI slot,
you will also need to guide the output ports into the
back of your computer. | |
|
Once you
have inserted the SentryPad input adapter into your PCI
slot, you need to ensure that it's fully connected.
| |
|
Firmly
push the card into the PCI slot, you should still see
some of the gold edge, but only about 1mm or 2mm.
| |
|
Now with
the screw removed from the blanking plate, fix the
SentryPad input card into place, if you didn't remove a
screw from the blanking plate then you can use one of
the screws that you removed from the case cover.
| |
|
Once the
screw in fully screwed in you can replace your case
cover. | |
|
Once the
input card has been installed it should look similar to
the picture here. | |
|
| *The depicted input adapter
in these images may differ from the one supplied, however the
process of installing the input adapter remains the
same. |
